AIEEE Online

The central government has announced that students taking the All India Engineering/ Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE) will be allowed to take the exam online in 2011. The exam, scheduled on April 24, 2011, will also give candidates the option of taking the pen-and-paper test.

This is the first time in 10 years since the central government passed a resolution to conduct common entrance examination for students across the country for admission to professional and technical programmes in the country that the option is being given to students.

This year for the first time the board has also made facility available for appearing in online examination for one lakh candidates on a first-come-first-served basis in 20 select cities with a capacity of 5,000 per city. Students retain the option of taking the exam the traditional way using the pen and paper.

The AIEEE scores are taken into account for a student's admission to BE, B.Tech, BArch and B Planning couses in the country's various National Institutes of Technology, International Institutes of Information Technology and deemed universities, and a few other institutions in the state. Sale of information bulletin for the exam will start on December 15 at various banks, institutions and regional offices of the board. Candidates can start applying to take the test online from November 23.
