CBSE observing 26th Road Safety Week from January 11 to 17
The 26th Road Safety Week will be observed in the schools affiliated to CBSE from 11th to 17th January, 2015. The theme for this year’s Road Safety Week is “Safety is not just a slogan, It’s a way of life“. An indicative list of road safety activities which may be undertaken during the week is given in official circular issued today.
Almost over one lakh persons lose their lives every year in our country in road accidents, causing loss of human lives and property and trauma to the family of the deceased. This underlines the urgency for adopting various road safety measures. As a part of the advocacy campaign for road safety, ‘Road Safety Week’ is observed throughout the country every year in the month of January in order to highlight and emphasize the need for safe roads. It is also an opportunity for all stakeholders to contribute to the cause by taking up activities to promote the concept.
It is requested that in order to carry out these activities in a befitting manner, involvement of all the concerned agencies like Traffic Police, Health Information & Publicity, Education, PWD, etc., and other field agencies like Transport Authorities, District Authorities, Voluntary Organizations etc. may be ensured. All stakeholders and the public at large may be encouraged to participate.
You are also requested to upload the report of the activities conducted by your school including photographs/videos/audio (not exceeding 5 MB) at the link CBSE Expression Resources at www.cbseacademic.in latest by 20th January, 2015.
