DU BPO Course

Gone are the days when jobs in the BPO industry were looked down upon. Today, this industry hires youngsters in huge numbers and pays them well too. In keeping with this trend, Delhi University has entered into an MoU with NASSCOM to offer its undergraduate students a course that will develop employment skills suitable to get jobs in the BPO industry.

Taking inputs from prominent players in the BPO sector including Convergys, Genpact, Accenture, and IBM, the Global Business Foundation Skills course, as it is called, has been designed by the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM).

According to a news published in Economic Times, the course will be available to final year students as an ‘add-on’ course on a first come first serve basis.

Hailing it as a landmark event, DU Vice Chancellor Prof Deepak Pental said the MoU has marked the first instance of the University and NASSCOM coming together to address the issue of employability.

The need for young professionals is immense. As per experts, the industry would need an additional 6.9 million people in the near future.
