Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) is about to complete 50 years of its existence and has decided to introduce new uniform pattern from 2012-13 session.

"KVS is completing 50 years of its glorious existence and on the eve of its golden jubilee, it would like to introduce new uniform pattern for KV students from the academic session 2012-13," KV Joint Commissioner (Trg) Shashi Kant here today said.

The present uniform design has been in vogue since the very inception of KVS in 1963, he informed.

"With the view to remain contemporary and to provide a unique identity to its students with comfort and the cost and availability factors, the new uniform has been designed in collaboration with the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Ministry of Textiles," he said.

"The Board of Governors in their 92nd meeting held on May 18 has approved of the adoption of a new uniform for the KVS as designed by the NIFT, New Delhi," he added.

It is hoped that the adoption of the new uniform will bring about an added sense of vibrancy and dynamism into the portals of the Kendriya Vidyalayas, he maintained. (UNI)
