The HRD Ministry has initiated the process for the preparation of a National Vocational Education Qualification Framework. The first two round tables have been organized by the All India Council for Technical Education, (AICTE) for the development of a national vocational education qualification framework, the first one with regard to the automobile sector, and the second one with regard to the IT, ITES and Telecom Industry.
More round tables are proposed to be organized in order to address a gamut of vocations. Subsequent to the discussions, to develop the course curriculum, core groups have been constituted for the preparation of the curriculum for the automobile, for the telecom and for the IT sector. These groups are to submit their recommendations to the HRD Ministry within 3 months.
